The Jewel Ball Celebrates 65 Years with Sapphire! By LuxeGlobal Society Editor Margo Schwab. The 65th annual Jewel Ball took place August 6th, 2011 with an aquatically inspired Sapphire theme. 670 guests arriving to the transformed La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club walked through a satin blue embellished entrance lined with ‘porthole’ aquariums of live fish.
